Dear Little League Parents and Players,
As our regular baseball season comes to a close, Greater Naples Little League thanks you for another successful year. We also want to make you aware of two important and exciting upcoming post-season baseball events.
The first event is our end of season
Skills Clinics to be held on the following dates:
- League Ages 9 & 10: Wednesday, May 29, 2013 & Monday, June 3, 2013 both from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Fleischmann – North Field
- League Ages 10 & 11: Wednesday, May 29, 2013 & Monday, June 3, 2013 both from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Fleischmann – South Field
- League Ages 11 & 12: Thursday, May 30, 2013 & Wednesday, June 5, 2013 both from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Fleischmann – South Field
The purpose of the Skills Clinics is to reinforce baseball fundamentals learned throughout the season as well as introduce certain skills to the players as they prepare for the upcoming Little League Tournament (“All-Stars”) Tryouts.
Attendance at these important clinics is highly recommended in preparation for those who plan to try out for any of our Tournament (“All Stars”) Teams.
The second event is the
2013 Tournament (“All-Stars”) Tryouts. Tournament Tryouts will be held on the following dates:
- League Ages 9 & 10: Friday, June 7, 2013 6:00pm – 7:30pm at Fleischmann – North Field
- League Ages 10 & 11: Friday, June 7, 2013 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Fleischmann – South Field
- League Ages 11 & 12: Monday, June 10, 2013 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Fleischmann – South Field
Note: Attendance at Tryouts is required to be selected to the 2013 Tournament (“All Stars”) Teams – this includes any prior years All Star players. Having played in prior seasons is not a guarantee for selection in the current year. All players are required to tryout.
All-Stars competition differs significantly from regular season play in terms of commitment, playing rules and team composition. Players selected to the All-Star teams should expect intense daily practices before and during the Tournament schedule. Tournament play also has the potential to run through the month of July or beyond depending on the success of a particular team; thus, family vacation may be extremely limited.
The Tryouts will be utilized by the Managers to select the 9 & 10, 10 & 11 and 11 & 12 Tournament (“All Stars”) teams. This year the Board of Directors voted to institute a $100/per player fee for all selected players this season. This fee will be due at the first team practice following the teams being named. The monies will be used to defray the league’s costs associated with the All Stars campaign, including game and practice uniforms, etc.

Again, thank you for another great baseball season! We look forward to seeing everyone at Fleischmann for our Closing Ceremonies on
Saturday, May 18th at 9:00 am.
Best regards,
Mike Roseman

Welcome to Greater Naples Little League! Each year, Greater Naples Little League (GNLL) helps over 360 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 learn and enjoy our national pasttime. GNLL was franchised on May 22nd, 1959, making it the first Little League in Collier County.
GNLL is dedicated to creating an environment that places equal emphasis on learning positive skills such as sportsmanship, competition, and team effort, while learning the game of baseball and having fun. There are over 140 volunteers that dedicate their time to the league every season. GNLL applauds the Board of Directors, League Volunteers, Team Managers, Assistant Coaches, and Team Parents that make the program possible.
Greater Naples Little League is a chartered affiliate of Little League Baseball, Inc. and participates within the newly designated District 27 of the Little League Southern Region. GNLL operates under the guidelines of the GNLL Board of Director's Constitution and By-laws and the Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball Incorporated of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
